Scuffle in Smithers

Day 21: July 21, 2017: Smithers, BC: 360m/579km

The rain had cleared, nothing but blue skies, minus the smoke. We had seen smoke since Montana, but now it was getting worse. We still had not stopped to buy eggs for breakfast, so we chose the restaurant at the Sandman Inn. Turns out the larger motel in town was housing the wildfire refugees that had evacuated.
Just 3 miles from Smithers and we start to see small raindrops of our windshield. We pull into the Municipal Campground where Opa has always stayed. Opa had called them earlier about us. He is always clear that while there are two people, two motorcycles, and two tents that we only want one spot. The lady that was on the phone with Opa had agreed and told us what the price would be. When we check in, this guy, who seemed pretty toasted was starting to hassle us about the arrangement. He gets upset and raises his voice, "You said your granddaughter, we thought you meant little girl."
My grandfather shoots back, "I said she's my granddaughter, there are two people, two tents, and two motorcycles. Little girls (meaning young, under legal driving age) can't drive!"
They bicker, Opa says the whole situation is a load of bullshit, and that we will leave. A woman in the camper tells the man to let Opa and I have a spot and give us the single price that had already been quoted to us. He did so, reluctantly.
We grabbed our little corner of the camp and set up, the rain never came down harder than a light drizzle. We stopped by Safeway to finally get eggs for breakfast and stop by A&W for dinner.
